Bouchard parts ways with her coach Hogstedt

It seems that Genie Bouchard cannot find her way.

The Canadian appeared to be destined for greatness when she reached the Wimbledon final back in 2014, but then she didn’t really shine on tour.

Genie is currently ranked no. 87 with a dismaying 11 -17 win-loss record in 2017. After another disappointment at the US Open where she crashed out in the opener to Evgeniya Rodina, the Canadian withdrew from the competitions citing a (mysterious) virus. Genie has skipped the events in Quebec City, Seoul, and she will not play in Wuhan.

The split

According to reports, Genie’s coach Thomas Hogstedt has left the Canadian to sign another player. Thomas has coached Genie for the first 3 months of 2016, and he tried again in 2017. Probably he had enough of that.

Let’s hope that Bouchard will find her way back.
