Nick Kyrgios has often struggled with his focus. The controversial Australian didn’t hide the fact that he has often tanked lots of tennis matches and that he is not as committed to the sport as some of his colleagues.
Once again, Nick found the right motivations during the Davis Cup under the lead of his friend and mentor Lleyton Hewitt. Nick lost a crucial match against Davis Goffin on Monday in 4 sets (6-7 6-4 6-4 6-4), but he showed a lot of grit, and he has also impressed in his first match won after a rough 5-setter against Darcis. This was the sort of the attitude that Hewitt was expecting from his team, and the Australian didn’t hide his pride for his “boys.”
After the tie, Nick also seemed proud of being part of his team to post a couple of nice messages o Twitter.
If Kokkinakis finds his form and Nick keeps his focus, the Aussies have a clear shot at the Davis Cup title in 2018.

And a huge well done to the Aussie team who did us proud in Belgium. In a 2nd #DavisCup SF in 3 years, they fought to the very last point. pic.twitter.com/jqtCWuitIt
