Shapovalov shares his love for Canada

Denis Shapovalov can’t contain his happiness for being decisive in bringing Team Canada back to the Davis Cup World Group. The 18-year-old has won both singles in the play-off against India, and he is ready for more in the years to come.

I love playing for my country. SHAPOVALOV

In an interview following his second Davis Cup match, Denis commented

“Clinching for my country is huge. I grew up wanting to play on the team, and to help my country win this week is a huge honor. It’s honestly the best feeling.

I’ll be back for many years to come if I am invited to play. It’s such a fun event, and I love doing it.”

“This is right up there with all the rest of the things that have happened of late. I’m improving every day, and I still think I need to improve a lot of things. But I am playing with a lot of confidence and playing some great tennis. I felt so good on the court today.”

Denis has managed to erase his horrible experience in his latest Davis Cup appearance when back in February he was defaulted from the decisive rubber against Great Britain when he fired a ball in frustration and broke a bone in the eye socket of chair umpire Arnaud Gaba.

Will he get in the top10 already in 2018?
