Dimitrov in tears after reaching the semis – 2012 Aegon Championship

Grigor Dimitrov is arguably one of the most interesting young players to try to get in gotha of tennis. The Bulgarian has movements that closely resemble the ones of the great Swiss Maestro and … he is also a very nice guy like Roger… so he may be the perfect new kid on block. Unfortunately Grigor has been struggling a bit to climb the ATP ranking. Ok.. he is still 21 years old, but he has to make a move (and he knows it).

So this week semifinal can be a very important boost to his morale. It cames after defeating big serve Kevin Anderson (not the easiest opponent on the grass) in 3 sets. After the match the Bulgarian could not stop his emotions.

“I got couple of tears,” Dimitrov said. “It was a good moment. I always wanted to share this with the people that I love so I was glad because my father was there, and I think it was a big moment for him mainly.”

“I was basically kind of stuck after the first set, but thank God it rained so I had time to go back in the locker and had time to review the first set and see what I did good and see what I did bad,” said Dimitrov. “After I think I was just more focused and more steady than him. It was ups and downs, but what’s important is the end result. I got a couple of tears. It was a good moment. I always wanted to share this with the people that I love.”

The Bulgarian will play Nalbandian in the semis. On the other side of the draw Cilic and Querrey will also play for a place in the final.
