Martina Hingis keeps on dominating the scene in the women’s and the mixed doubles after the Swiss won both competitions at the US Open.
Doubles
Martina has been partnering with Chan Yung-Jan from Taiwan in 2017; they have managed to win their 1st slam at the US Open after conquering 6 titles during the season. The title at the Flushing Meadows came after they defeated in the final the Czech team of Lucie Hradecka and Katerina Siniakova in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
Martina commented “I think we had definitely our chances [in the past]. Semifinals at the French, we played really well, but they were just better on that given day, Lucie and Bethanie. Coming into this tournament, winning Cincinnati, we showed that we can play on clay, and we can play on grass, and I think already making the finals, we felt very comfortable with how we played in the previous two, three matches.”

Martina partnered with Jamie Murray in the mixed doubles at the US Open. In the final, they defeated Michael Venus and Hao-Ching Chan 6-1 4-6 10-8 after they saved a championship point when Venus served on Martina. After the match, Jamie commented “I tried to find the best partner, she is an amazing player. If I play, then definitely we will play together. That’s what we said.”
