Sloane Stephens keeps on having an amazing comeback.
The American used to struggle with all sorts of injuries and stress related problems that put her out of competitions for 1 year. Eventually, Sloane got back to the pro circuit in July and soon after she got rid of the rust, she reached the semi-finals in Toronto, Cincinnati, and she is now in the US Open final!
The semi-final
Sloane had to face Venus Williams, one of her childhood heroes, in the semi-final. After a huge roller-coaster in the first 2 sets when Stephens won the opener 6-1 before being bagelled (6-0) in the second, everything went to a massive dogfight in the decider. Sloane was 1 break-up twice in the 3rd set (2-0 and 4-3), but Venus refused to go away to get her break back twice. Eventually, Williams gave away again her service game in the 11th game (6-5), and that was too much: Sloane won the match 6-1 0-6 7-5.

The final
Sloane will play the final against Madison Keys. The head to head is 1-0 for Stephens that defeated Keys in 2 years ago in Miami 6-4 6-2, but that was a completely different time.
