Upset and injured Tsonga may miss Wimbledon – 2012 Aegon Championship

Horrible day for Jo that lost an incredible match with Dodig and he got injured.

DODIG – TSONGA 7-6(3) 3-6 7-6(5)

Jo had an unlucky one. He broke his opponent twice and he has never lost a service game. He won more games than Dodig (18-17) and the same amount of points (113 each). On top of it, to add insult to injury (or… the other way round…) in the decider he slipped to injure his right hand.”I think it’s serious. I didn’t do an exam for the moment, but it sounds very bad,” Tsonga said.”Of course it’s not a good day. It’s important to play many matches and to get ready for Wimbledon. It affects my confidence a bit.”

If Tsonga misses Wimbledon he will certanly lose the 5th spot of the ATP ranking since he should defend last year’s points when he lost in the semis (after an epic victory with King Roger in the quarters when he was 2 sets down).

On the other side of the draw Dimitorv (alias Baby Federer) defeated Mahut 7-6 (3) 6-4 to reach the quarters where he is going to play against Anderson.

Not much to add… we just hope to see Jo flying again on the grass in a couple of weeks time.
