Sharapova doesn’t care about Wozniacki’s attack

Maria Sharapova has just reached 4th round after he defeated Sofia Kenin in straight sets, and she had to go back to answer to the criticism of another colleague.

What happened?

Caroline Wozniacki has extremely frustrated after she lost her 2nd round match against Ekaterina Makarova 6-2 6-7 6-1. The Dane ended the match after midnight on Thursday morning because of a rain delay. Caroline lashed out at the US Open organization because they preferred to schedule Maria Sharapova on a roofed center court allowing the Russian to play at a “decent time” while Wozniacki had to cope with the lengthy rain delay.

Caroline said

“I think putting out a schedule where the No. 5 in the world in playing on Court 5, fifth match on after 11, I think that is unacceptable. When you look at center court, I understand completely the business side of things and everything, but someone who comes back from a drug sentence, and you know, performance enhancing drugs, and then all of the sudden gets to play every single match on center court, I think that’s a questionable thing to do.”

The reaction from Sharapova

During her 3rd round post-match press-conference, Maria commented

“With regards to the scheduling, as you know, I don’t make the schedule. I am a pretty big competitor. If you put me out in the parking lot at Queens in New York City, I am happy to play here. That’s not what matters to me. All that matters is that I am in the 4th round. Yeah, I am not sure where she is.”
