Nadal not happy with the noisy crowd

Rafael Nadal is a player that is always striving for concentration during his matches, and a noisy environment is something that he really doesn’t like. Unfortunately, Rafa has to deal with one of the loudest courts on tour: the Artur Ashe Stadium.

The problem of the Artur Ashe Stadium is that that court is already a bit noisy and an over-excited crowd doesn’t really help. Adding the roof made things even worse, and Rafa doesn’t appreciate the fact that the crowd is not very cooperative.

Why Rafa is not happy with the crowd.

After his 1st round win against Lajovic, Nadal commented

“Being honest, it is a little bit too much [the noise]. The energy and support of the crowd are massive. I enjoy it, and I have unforgettable memories from this tournament and this court because the energy is different from in other places.

But at the same time, under the roof, it’s too much noise. I was not able to hear the ball when hitting. I understand it’s a show, but under the roof, we need to be a little bit more strict about the noise. All the noise stays inside, and this is difficult.”

Nadal will face Taro Daniel in the second round. He must be lucky that he has not to play Maria Sharapova… with that screaming, the noise would be just unbearable.
