Rafael Nadal is all set to tie the knot with long-time girlfriend, Xisca Perello. The two got engaged in May 2018 while on vacation in Rome. Just like their engagement, the pair wanted to keep their marriage secret but went public earlier this year.

The wedding will be held near Manacor, Rafael Nadal’s hometown. The venue is the ‘La Fortaleza,’ one of the most expensive properties on the island.  Overall, the wedding is expected to be one of the most high-profile events in Mallorca. The wedding also brings together some of the most popular faces from different parts of the globe.

Around 500 guests are likely to attend the event. The high profile guests expected to attend the wedding include some of Spain’s finest athletes such as NBA star Pau Gasol and football legend Cristiano Ronaldo. Also receiving invites for the wedding are Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias, Nadal’s current coach Carlos Moya, and former Spanish national football team manager Julen Lopetegui.

Nadal’s Spanish compatriots Fernando Verdasco and Feliciano Lopez will also be present during the ceremony.  It is also rumored that the 18-time Grand Slam champion has invited long-time rival Roger Federer to his wedding.

No truth to the invitation

In a press conference, however, Roger Federer denied the report. He said that he was not invited by Rafael Nadal to his wedding scheduled on October 19. The 20-time Grand Slam champion said that people should not believe everything that is being reported.  According to Federer, he doesn’t know anything about it. Federer will compete in the Swiss Indoors in Basel starting October 19. Aside from that he also has plans for the weekend before the Basel tournament.

Notably, both players joined the Player Council last month. Joining the Player Council was something that Rafa and Roger had agreed to do together. Having similar points of view, the two are at the stage of their career when they plan to retire and leave the sport.

Sharing A Special Bond

Although bitter rivals in the tennis court, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer share a special bond that goes beyond their rivalry. They once doubled partners at the Laver Cup a couple of years back. The two tennis greats were also seen having fun at a bar in Wimbledon together with other tennis stars like Dominic Thiem, Alexander “Sascha” Zverev and Fabio Fognini.
