One of Brazil’s best attackers, Ronaldo Nazario, has revealed his large padel investment. By constructing clubs, gyms, and social centers to satisfy the increasing demand for facilities, the Galacticos Rackets project seeks to revolutionize the sport’s presence in Brazil.
Strategic collaboration
Ronaldo has collaborated as an operational partner with the Calçadão Group to realize this ambition. With operations slated to start at the end of 2026, they intend to open centers nationwide. Ronaldo’s long-standing love for padel, which he has shown on multiple occasions before to making this significant move, is reflected in the initiative.
Expansion of the market
One of the Americas’ fastest-growing padel marketplaces is now Brazil. A favorable environment for Ronaldo’s initiative was created in 2021 when import duties on rackets were lowered, which increased participation in both tennis and padel, according to the International Tennis Federation’s Global Tennis Report.
Three investment pillars
Three primary lines of action comprise the structure of the Galacticos Rackets project. First, a premium private club with entertainment, dining, wellness amenities, and racket sports. The second is the Galacticos Arena, which combines technology and athletics. Ronaldo explained, “The idea is for players to book, access, play, and connect with a community through a single digital platform, so the experience goes beyond just playing the game.” Lastly, a social section will concentrate on regenerating neglected communities in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and other locations in order to democratize access to padel.
Plan for expansion
To fund its growth, the project is wrapping up a funding round. Seven complexes are now being built in the Southeast, and plans call for 100 tennis courts and 100 padel courts. These are arenas in upscale areas like Galacticos Clubs in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Negotiations are under progress to expand into the Northeast, Central-West, and South regions, with an expected total investment of 25 million Brazilian reais. The majority of the launches will take place in 2027, with the first facilities anticipated to open by the end of 2026.
Ronaldo’s project, which combines top-notch facilities, cutting-edge technology, and social inclusion to determine the sport’s future, is a major turning point in the development of padel in Brazil.
