Daniil Medvedev

Daniil Medvedev is having an incredible run at the current US Open after a fantastic summer. The Russian sensation was the runner-up in Washington and Montreal before winning Cincinnati.

Daniil was considered as the top favorite at the US Open after the Big3. However, after he played the 1st round, it seemed as he had no chances to have another deep run given his conditions. Medvedev admitted that he was struggling with all sorts of issues due to the heavy work he had in the previous months. Nevertheless, the Russian sensation found his way in the draw, and he will now face a surprising Grigor Dimitrov in the semifinal.

The injury update

Unfortunately, Daniil has been struggling with a problem to his left leg especially during his match against Stan Wawrinka in the quarters.

It was Daniil’s coach Gilles Cervara to give some updates about Medvedev’s injury to say:

“I know that what he has, I think it’s not a big deal. You know, he had already this in the past. So we will manage this because he has two days off before the semifinal. So we will work on it to make him ready for Friday.”
