Garbine learned about the incident during a rain delay in her 3 sets battle against Madison Keys to comment

“I couldn’t believe it. I have been so many times to that place, so many times. It’s like the main street with a lot of shops and people.

I was very surprized because you always hear what happened in Paris and in London, and you’re, like, ‘Shit.’ But now, I’ve been so many times to this place; it’s like my home. And I feel, like, ‘Shit.’

I’ve been there so many times. So, it really shocked me. Really shocked me. I’m just sad for the people that were there. I feel like if you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time, it can happen anywhere.”
