WORLD NO.1 BATTLE. Federer only 40 points from Nadal in YTD

Roger Federer has failed to win the title in Montreal after he was the hot favorite to conquer the final against Alexander Zverev. Still, the Maestro has collected 600 points while Rafa only 90 (he crashed out in the third round). This means that Roger Federer is just 40pts away from Rafael Nadal in the year to date rankings.

Having Roger and Rafa so close in the year to date rankings means that we may assist to a passionate head to head from now till the end of the season between these old rivals. Let’s just hope that Roger will recover from the problem to his back that he has suffered during the final in Montreal to witness this contest.

Zverev

Besides Federer and Nadal, there is somebody else that is grabbing the headlines. In fact, after winning his 2nd master ATP1000, Sascha Zverev overtakes his friend Dominic Thiem in the year to date rankings to be the new world no.3. This means that if Roger and Rafa won’t perform in 2018 like they are doing in 2017, the German is the next in line for the top of the rankings.

Here the top30.
