Why Federer is the favourite. ZVEREV

Sascha Zverev and Roger Federer will clash in the Montreal final.

The German is coming from a rather tiring stint as he has already played (and won) 9 matches in 11 days in August after he won the Citi Open in Washington and he has reached the final in Montreal.  At the end of his semifinal against Shapovalov, it seemed as Zverev was struggling from a  physical point of view. If that is true, Federer will take full advantage of it.

Roger on the other side has played 4 quick matches in the last 4 days after a relaxing break following his Wimbledon triumph; he looks as fresh as ever.

Why Federer is the favorite. ZVEREV

During the press conference following his match against Shapovalov, Sascha admitted that the Swiss is the favorite to win the final to comment

“I think Roger’s definitely the favorite. He’s been playing amazing tennis. He pretty much won every single big tournament he played this year. I feel like I’m playing well, so I know that I have to serve a lot better tomorrow than I did today. That was I think the thing that I struggled the most with today.

But, you know, I played in five finals this year. I won four. The one that I lost was against Roger. There’s a reason for it. I’m happy to be in the final. I’ll try to enjoy as much as I can.”

The head to head

Roger leads Sascha 2-1 and he has recently dismissed the German in the Halle final 6-1 6-3. The world no.3 seems to be the favorite to win this one.
