Carlos Alcaraz has spoken out following his surprise loss to Sebastian Korda at the Miami Open, where he was beaten 6-4, 6-3 in the third round. The Spaniard, who entered the tournament as one of the favorites, admitted that the setback was disappointing but emphasized his focus on the upcoming clay court season.
A message to fans after Miami
Alcaraz shared his thoughts on social media, expressing both regret and determination. “Yesterday it wasn’t to be, but we’ll try again next year! Ora è tempo di ricaricare le batterie e prepararsi per la stagione sulla terra battuta!”, he wrote, signaling his intent to quickly move past the defeat and shift his attention to the next phase of the calendar.
Preparing for Monte Carlo
The clay season begins with the Monte Carlo Masters, where Alcaraz will return as the defending champion. His triumph there last year was a pivotal moment in his rise, and he now looks to replicate that success. With the European clay swing offering multiple opportunities to regain momentum, Alcaraz’s focus is firmly on proving his resilience and reasserting his dominance on his favored surface.
