Federer close to Montreal title

Roger Federer had another quick stroll in Montreal.  The Swiss sensation didn’t struggle much to dismiss Roberto Bautista-Agut 6-4 6-4. The only moment that Roger blinked was at the beginning of the second set after he dropped his serve (1-1) soon after he broke the Spaniard. (1-0). That was just a little amnesia as Federer broke the Spaniard soon after (2-1) to then conquer the match in just 68 minutes.

Going to the net is key. FEDERER

Roger had impressive stats at the net as he won the point 21 times out of 25 runs. The Swiss acknowledged that that was the key to comment

“It pays off playing aggressively here in Montreal, plus I feel comfortable at net, so why not spend some time there instead of slugging it out from the baseline. I think I did a good job again, even though it was tough to control the ball. I got some decent rhythm going.”

Next vs. Haase

Roger will face a surprising Robin Haase in the semi-final. The head to head is 1-0 for Roger that should have no problems in getting to the final.
