Zverev, Kyrgios is poised to be a classic in the years to come. The German and the Australian are great friends, they respect each other’s, and they are expected to play for big things in the near future. They will clash for the third time in the year in Montreal, and this time the German seems to be in pole position.

Why Zverer is the favorite in Montreal

Sascha and Nick have already played each other 2 times this year in Indian Wells and Miami, and the Australian has won on both occasions. They will face off again on Thursday in the 3rd round in Montreal, but this time everything could be different with Zverev in full flight after he won Washington and he conquered his first ATP1000 in Rome. Also, Sascha is now ranked no.8 and Nick “only” no.24 following his terrible season on clay and grass.

Why Nick can still win this one

In theory, the German is the favorite, but he is coming from a “long week” in Washington, and his opener against Gasquet was brutal (Sasha won the contest after saving 3 match points).

On the other side, Nick had two extremely easy and quick matches against Troicki (6-1 6-2) and Lorenzi (6-2 6-3). Therefore he is expected to have much more energy than his opponent.

Considering all these variables, Zverev seems to be the favorite to win this one, but you’ll never know how Kyrgios is inspired on a given day, and he loves big matches!

They will play 6.30pm local time. Better not to miss this one!
