Federer has a fantastic start in Montreal

Roger Federer had another fantastic performance after he brushed aside Peter Polansky 6-2 6-1. Roger was absolutely flawless from the very beginning to grab a 3-0 start after conceding just one point. Then the Swiss went into cruise control to win the opener 6-2 in 21 minutes. The music didn’t change in the second set when Roger got a solid 5-0 lead in no time before conquering the match in 53 minutes.

I am happy I was aggressive. FEDERER

Roger was particularly happy with his interpretation of the game to comment

“I started the first set well. In the second set, I was able to put pressure on him, and he helped me with some double faults, of course. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the match. The conditions were tough here in Montreal. There was a lot of wind today, and it was fast. Sometimes it’s difficult to find the rhythm.

But I was happy that I was very focused on my service games. I was aggressive. This is how I want to play for the whole week. Anyway, it’s a good start.”

Next vs. Ferrer

Roger will face David Ferrer in the 3rd round. The Spaniard defeated Jack Sock in 3 sets after a fierce battle. The head to head between Roger and David is 16-0 for the Swiss. 17-0 will be a plausible scenario after this week.
