To be a great champion you really need to have a big fire burning inside you. Sometimes this fire is so strong that you struggle to put it off when you lose. This is what was happening even to a young Roger Federer that was struggling to cope with failure; Jelena Ostapenko has a similar issue.
What happened?
Jelena has lost in the Toronto opener to a strong Varvara Lepchenko to give a disgusting handshake at the net. Unfortunately, nowadays you can easily go back and check some other episodes, and apparently, the Latvian is not new to this kind of “performance.”
Back in time, Jelena had a horrible handshake with Garbine Muguruza after losing in Rome and she had another couple of embarrassing episodes with Putintseva, Broady, and Mladenovic.
ostapenko handshake is very unpolite and disrespectful. maybe ostapenko is over confident and deserve to lose.. https://t.co/wM2OXGkKGa

#Ostapenko didn’t try to pull that bullshit drive-by hand slap masquerading as a handshake when she lost to #Venus at #Wimbledon.#RogersCup https://t.co/FNIjHfVUxM

Ostapenko never will be a real champion. Bad handshake. And look in her face. No respect against her opponents.

What a terrible handshake by Ostapenko. Go learn how to accept defeat first kid.

Ostapenko is such a sore loser. If only winning a slam could make one classy. Pathetic handshake at the net.
