Bianca Andreescu is one of the most interesting upcoming players in the WTA Tour. Starting from her breakthrough tournament in Auckland where she reached the final coming straight from the qualifications, the young Canadian was almost unstoppable during the year to triumph in Newport Beach, Indian Wells, and Toronto.
Why Bianca has the support from the Romanians
Bianca has a double fan-base as she has the full support from both her fellow Canadians and the Romanians because of her origins.
Bianca’s parents are both Romanian. His father Nicu is an engineer that graduated from the Transilvania University of Brașov. Her mother Maria graduated from the University of Craiova. They moved to Canada as Nicu accepted a job offer soon after he graduated. Bianca was born in Ontario, but later their parents decided to move back to Romania when she was 7. That was the moment when Bianca started to play tennis. Then, they moved back to Canada when Bianca began to train at the Ontario Racquet Club, and that was the moment when everything started to roll in the right direction.
Bianca has always credited her parents for the decisive help that they gave her. In particular, the young Canadian maintains that she learned how to stay calm in important moments from meditating, something that her mother taught her.
