Why Zverev has impressed his new coach Ferrero

Sascha Zverev has surprised many after hiring former world no.1, Juan Carlos Ferrero. The Spaniard has a great experience, but he is a clay court specialist, and that may clash a bit with the “new trend” of being more aggressive and seeking for more runs at the net.

He is so strong!

Sascha is currently getting ready for his campaign at the City Open, and he has already impressed his new mentor that commented

“He surprised me with how strong he is. When you see him on the court, he is very thin. But then I saw him practice, work in the gym. He likes to practice a lot on the court, like four hours today, and then work in the gym.

I think he’s ready to grow up a little bit and try to improve the things that he has to improve. It’s a good start.”

The German may face his friend Nick Kyrgios in the 3rd round in Washington. He has a 0-2 record against the Australian. Let’s see if Ferrero can give his input to reverse that!
