The reigning champion in the women’s singles at both the Australian Open and US Open, Naomi Osaka is Haitian-Japanese and needs no introduction. She is, in fact, one of the first Asian players to bag the top ranks in the women’s singles and is now a superstar in her native Japan. After her famous win over Serena Williams in the 2018 US Open, she became a household in Japan and among tennis fans. Though Naomi always kept her private life away from the shutterbugs yet her fans were quick to jump to the conclusion that the pro Japanese star is dating the rapper YBN Cordae.

Despite Naomi shying away from accepting the fact that the two are dating, YBN Cordae told the Hot 97 Radio show’s interviewers that indeed the two are dating. And, the world went into a tizzy to find out as to who YBN Cordae is.

Who is YBN Cordae?

Born as Cordae Dunston and professionally called YBN Cordae, he is a singer who was raised in Suitland and is an American rapper. Dunston started rapping at a very tender age under “Entendre” as his stage name. YBN initially released mixtapes by his stage name and these tapes were called – “Anxiety” in the year 2014, “I am So Anxious” in the year 2016 and “I am So Anonymous” in the year 2017.

He became YBN Cordae after becoming the YBN Collective’s member in 2018. Dunston gained immense popularity by remixing popular songs like Eminem’s “My Name Is” and J Cole’s “Old N*ggas.” Both of them were uploaded to the YouTube Channel of WorldStarHipHop which garnered massive attention both from the online community of rappers and mainstream media.

Cordae released “The Lost Boy”, his debut as a studio album.

Dunston and Osaka make for a really good couple. Their Japanese connect and love for music have bound them together. At a recent interview, when asked about the music she constantly listens and hums too, the twenty-one-year-old tennis star recommended the song “Lost Boy” which by the way is the debut record of Cordae.
