Serena’s pregnancy and risking her life
Wiliams had a complicated pregnancy that was about to be fatal for her. According to Serena, everything started with a pulmonary embolism that as “one or more arteries in the lungs becomes blocked by a blood clot.” This is not a new condition for Serena that after the c-section had to go back to surgery as the c-section wound popped open because of her coughing.
When back to surgery, the doctor found a large hematoma that was a swelling of clotted blood to have another procedure. Serena had to spend the following 6 weeks in bed.
