THE GREATEST. Federer wins his 8th Wimbledon!

At 35 years of age (36 the 8th of August), Roger Federer wins his 8th Wimbledon without dropping a single set during the tournament (first time for him at the Championships).

The final

Roger won one of the easiest finals of his career. In fact, besides the fact that the Swiss was playing at his very best, on the other side he played against an emotional and injured Marin Cilic. The match ended after the 5th game after Cilic was leading 3-2. From that moment on it was just about Roger that won the following 7 games to conquer a decisive 6-3 3-0 lead before winning the second set (6-1). Marin called for an injury time-out for a couple of times, and he was struggling to fight tears, but he tried his best, and he gave a fight in the third set. Eventually, Roger was too good to win the match 6-3 6-1 6-4.

I am in disbelief. FEDERER

During the on-court interview, Roger commented

“It’s disbelief that I can achieve such heights. I wasn’t sure if I was ever going to be here, in another final.”

This is Federer’s 19th small, 93rd career title. Going for more… Why not? the guy is only 35!
