Lendl optimistic about Murray’s chances in Wimbledon

Andy Murray can win Wimbledon once again. This is what Ivan Lendl thinks about the chances of the world no.1 at the current Championships.

Andy started his Wimbledon campaign not in a great way after he was struggling with his hip. Eventually, things got normal, and the world no.1 is getting into his groove, and he looks confident ahead of the beginning of the second week.

Lendl’s opinion

Murray’s coach, Ivan Lendl, is pleased on how things are progressing to comment

Andy is hitting it better and cleaner every practice now and getting his timing back and rhythm back. Rhythm was very difficult with Bublik and Brown.

He’s in the second week, so he is in with a chance, same as 15 other guys. All those guys, they are great players, anybody can win.

By the end of Monday, if there is no bad weather, there will be only seven left, and hopefully Andy. The top guys are top guys because they do things a little bit better than the other guys. Can they be beaten?

Of course, they can but, in the end, most of the time the top guys do win because they are a little better than the others. Whether it’s problem-solving, whether it’s lack of matches for a while, dealing with distractions off the court – these guys are used to it. That’s part of the business.”

Next vs. Paire

Andy will play Benoit Paire in the 4th round. The head to head is 1-0 for the world no.1 that defeated Paire last year in Monte Carlo 2-6 7-5 7-5.
