US OPEN. Gross Kyrgios spits and wipes a towel on his crotch before handing it to a fan

Kyrgios at his antics all over again

One of the most controversial figures in the tennis world has to be the Australian star Nick Kyrgios. He continues to frustrate and delight everyone in the tennis fraternity alongside his fans, in equal measures. Right from calling names, throwing a chair to having disgraceful spats with spectators, the twenty-four-year-old has done it all. He has recently made headlines again, for an incredibly “gross” act that he committed post his US-Open win.

Kyrgios’ controversial antics

Nick disgusted viewers and was utterly slammed for the gross act by all across social media and the globe. Because, of wiping a towel on the crotch, under his armpits and spitting on it, before handing it over to the fans. This video of him committing the brazen act was posted by Sean Cassity as he captioned it “Real Cool”.

Certainly, this is not the first time that the firebrand Australian has done something because he and controversies go hand in hand. The twenty-four-year-old has been penalized in the past for infringements that include audible obscenity, verbal abuse, leaving the court during a loss at the second-round and unsportsmanlike conducts.

In the past, he has had many such incidents where the world of tennis went tweeting on the unusual antics he committed during his tournaments. At A Wimbledon Match, Kyrgios escaped punishment by a whisker when he called an official “dirty scum”

He is known to possess an explosive self and in the past has been disqualified from the Italian Open as well, because the volatile Australian threw across a chair on the court followed by a furious ranting session.

During the matches, he is infamous for displaying his hotheadedness. And has even gone to the extent of calling Fergus Murphy, An Irish Umpire, a “f***ing tool” and “potato” during the Cincinnati Masters.

Hate him or love him, Kyrgios has it in him. That is because when he plays, everyone watches. Nick may be a larrikin, a bad role model at times but if he leaves his time-wasting antics aside, Kyrgios can emerge to be one of the best modern tennis players.

Tim Henman, Britain’s four-time Wimbledon Semi-finalist has validated this fact by saying: “Kyrgios has the skill, if not the temperament currently, to reach the very top.”
