Ostapenko furious with Giorgi’s father

Sergio Giorgi is not well known for his sportsmanlike behavior and once again he fell short in Wimbledon.

What happened?

His daughter Camila was playing against the Roland Garros champion Jelena Ostapenko. Unfortunately, the Latvian had to complain many times with the umpire for the fact that people fro Giorgi’s box (especially the father), were coughing and shouting just before Jelena was serving to get under her skin. Ostapenko didn’t fell into this (cheap) trap, but eventually he made it public also during the post-match press conference.

What Jelena said

The Latvian commented

“It was just before my serve, somebody started to cough. I think it’s a little bit unsportsmanlike. You’re in such a high-level tournament like Wimbledon, a Grand Slam, I think people have to understand where they are.

I think it was from her dad actually. They’re very close to tennis. They have to understand how to behave during the points or before the serve.

I told the chair umpire and she kept an eye on it. A couple of times they were shouting before my serve. That’s why I got a bit disappointed.”

This is despicable stuff that unfortunately happens in low-level tournaments usually in the middle of nowhere. They should never happen … especially in Wimbledon.

Shame on them.

AT LEAST HE HAS THE LOOK
