Tomic to appeal $19,725 fine for faking injury

When you think that Bernard Tomic can’t get any lower, he hits another bottom. During the post-match press conference in Wimbledon he held after losing in straight sets to Misha Zverev, the Australian admitted that he was bored during the match and he faked an injury just to break the rhythm of his opponent.

This fine will be deducted from Tomic’s prize money of $64,000

It’s not fair, I will appeal. TOMIC

Instead of accepting the fine, the Australian embarrasses himself one more after he declared that he would appeal the fine

“I was being honest,” he commented. “People are saying the fine is for calling for the doctor, but it’s not. I don’t think the fine is fair.”

What Tomic said during the interview

The Australian commented

“I just thought I’d try to break a bit of momentum, to use that as my strategy [the medical time-out], because I was just playing very bad and feeling bad out there.

I tried to use something different maybe, you know, slow him down a bit on the serve. He was playing quick, and we were all playing quick, and he was serving well.”
