In the 2nd round, the Spaniard defeated Donald Young 6-4 6-2 7-5. The only moment that Rafa blinked was when he failed to serve out the match when he was leading 5-4 in the 3rd set. Soon after, Rafa regrouped to win 8 of the following 9 points to conquer the ticket to the next round.
