Simona Halep wins a fantastic opener in Wimbledon.
The world no.2 had to face Marina Erakovic from New Zealand that despite her rank (world no.129) is a rather good player on grass. Simona had to win a tight opening set after she broke Erakovic in the 5th game (3-2). Then, things got much easier in the second set before Halep won the encounter 6-4 6-1 in just 75 minutes.

I had some trouble with her slice. HALEP
Soon after the match, Simona said she was pleased with this start even if she had some problems, especially in the first set. The Romanian commented
“I knew she had a strong forehand. I didn’t know actually that she’s hitting so well the slice, so I had a little bit trouble in the first set. But then I got used to the rhythm. In the second set, it was much better.
The court is a bit different than the practice courts – was tough to adjust.”
