Nick Kyrgios had high hopes ahead of this Wimbledon campaign, but things got sideways pretty soon. The Australian had to retire in the first round at Queens, and he had to face the same destiny in Wimbledon where he was unable to compete against Herbert in the first round. Nick was clearly struggling with his movements from the very beginning against the Frenchman and he retired after he lost the first 2 sets 6-3 6-4. There was absolutely no reason to keep on playing.

What Nick is going to do

The Australian will try to avoid to have a surgery to try some other solutions.

“It’s my favorite tournament. I do well here every year. So it’s tough for me to go out there and get beaten and pull out. It’s not the easiest thing for me to do,” he commented

I would do everything possible to avoid it [the operation]. But I don’t know. I’m obviously a little bit scared. But I don’t think I need it at the moment.

Hopefully get an injection or something, do rehab, and get healthy. I can’t really do anything. You know, it’s just a bit unlucky what happened.”

Kyrgios has lost 5 of his last 6 matches. It’s not a great moment.
