Jo beat the French Open Champion in the 3^rd round after coming back from a 2-4 deficit in the decider before winning four consecutive games and conquer the match after winning 103 points vs. Ostapenko’s 104. The final result was 7-5 3-6 6-4, but that was half of the story.

Vs. Kerber

Things got tastier and more dramatic later in the day against Angelique Kerber in the quarters. Jo suffered from a nasty tumble on her 3^rd match point; the Briton twisted her ankle, and she banged her head. The match was suspended for 5 minutes with Konta in tears. Eventually, Jo managed to win the encounter after Angelique missed a backhand on the 4^th match point. The final result was 6-3 6-4.
