Jelena Ostapenko from Latvia surprised the tennis world (and beyond) after winning the Roland Garros. Now another Latvian makes news after Anastasija Sevastova wins the tournament in Mallorca.
Anastasija had to overcome Julia Gorges in the final 6-4 3-6 6-3.
This is Sevastovas’ second career and the first in 7 years. Anastasija won Estoril in 2010. The Latvian has also reached two finals in 2016. One was in Mallorca when she lost to Garcia 6-3 6-4, and the other one was in Bucharest when she was brushed away by Simona Halep (6-0 6-0).
