Simona Halep to play in Eastbourne

Simona Halep is looking forward to having a great run in Wimbled n to finally conquer the first spot in the rankings. The Romanian is current the world no.2 and she is just 115points away from world no.1 Angelique Kerber that will also play in Eastbourne.

After accepting the wildcard, Simona commented

“I am very much looking forward to playing in Eastbourne. The quality of the draw is very high so I’m hoping for some great matches to give me the best possible preparation ahead of Wimbledon.”

Simona was meant to play in Birmingham last week, but she didn’t make it following an ankle injury that she has been nursing for the last month.

Djokovic has also accepted a wild card in Eastbourne; this means that the local fans will be blessed with the presence of the world no.4 of the ATP and the world no.1, no.2, and no.3 in the WTA draw (Karolina Pliskova will also compete at this event).
