The German defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-3 6-4 after another display of great and effective tennis. The outcome of the match was never in doubt with Alexander breaking his opponent once per set after converting two break points of 9. Philipp didn’t have the chance to even conquer a break point in the entire match.

Next vs. Bautista Agut

Sascha will face Roberto Bautista Agut in the quarters. The Spaniard has defeated Dustin Brown 6-4 1-6 7-6 (6) in the previous round. Even if the head to head is 2-1 for Roberto against Zverev, the German is the clear favorite to reach the semi-finals.

Talking about his upcoming match, Zverev commented

“He’s (Bautista Agut) also going to be a difficult opponent. My opponents this week, Paolo Lorenzi, Kohlschreiber and Bautista Agut, are actually players who are not very different in their games. Hopefully, I can adapt to his game and play just as well as I did today.”
