How dance helped Ostapenko with her footwork

Jelena Ostapenko has surprised the tennis world after reaching the French Open final coming from nowhere.

The Latvian has impressed with her tennis, her focus, her smiles, and her footwork. During a recent press conference at the Roland Garros, Jelena talked about her hobbies and her biggest passion: dance.

When home, Jelena dances at least four times per week, and she maintains that besides enjoying the activity, dancing is helping her with the footwork.

“I was dancing from 5 to 12 for seven years, and it really helps my footwork because you need to be very coordinated and those small steps are helping.”
