Coco Gauff Highlights How Tennis And Fashion Are Deeply Connected

Coco Gauff capped off another impressive year on the tennis circuit by expanding her influence beyond the sport. The American star became the face of Miutine perfume from Miu Miu Beauty, taking on the role of ambassador in the United States. The brand’s leaders expressed confidence that Gauff will play a key role in promoting individuality and self-confidence through this collaboration.

Connecting tennis and beauty

In a recent interview, Gauff spoke about the unique relationship between tennis and fashion. She highlighted how the sport allows players to express themselves through clothing and style. “They’re very connected. Tennis is one of the few sports, maybe other than golf or gymnastics, where you can really wear what you want. There’s no uniform or jersey. We can wear jewelry, and in some sports you can wear makeup too, but tennis has that flexibility. Recently, a lot of fashion trends have even come from the tennis court, so I think the two worlds are very connected,” she said.

A message to society

Gauff also addressed broader societal perceptions of female athletes. She emphasized that strength and femininity are not mutually exclusive, and that women should feel empowered to embrace both. “I think it’s because people used to try to put athletes in one box, especially female athletes. Sometimes people try to masculinize us. We want to celebrate being strong and bold, having muscles, but also being feminine, wearing makeup, wearing perfume, dressing how we want. People used to equate femininity with weakness. Now, society is realizing that you can be both strong and feminine. Those two things can coexist,” Gauff explained.

Inspiring the next generation

Her words resonate with young athletes who look to her as a role model. By combining excellence on the court with authenticity off it, Gauff continues to challenge stereotypes and inspire a new generation to embrace individuality, confidence, and balance in their lives.
