Venus Williams and actor Andrea Preti have officially tied the knot, celebrating their union with two ceremonies — one in Italy and another in Florida. The couple’s first wedding took place on September 18 in Ischia, Italy. Venus explained to Vogue, “We had this dream to do our wedding in Italy, but we didn’t have enough time to do the paperwork — because I’m a foreigner, it can take about eight months. So we decided to have a second wedding.”

Palm Beach festivities

The second ceremony was held in Palm Beach, Florida, reflecting Venus’ roots. Planned by Jennifer Zabinski of JZ Events, the same company that organized Serena Williams’ wedding in 2017, the celebration included a week of events leading up to the big day. Venus shared with Vogue, “They always say weddings go so fast, and they do. We started on Monday. Serena gave us this gift of a beautiful yacht, and she arranged all the food, everything. We had 10 to 12 of our closest family and friends who were in town on the boat, and we were singing, dancing, gossiping, and just enjoying each other.”

Courthouse ceremony and main wedding

On December 19, Venus and Preti held a courthouse wedding where she wore a Morilee New York dress. Preti described the moment to Vogue: “For me, the courthouse ceremony was very unique, emotional, and deep. It was the second-best day of my life.”

The main wedding followed, with Preti walking out alongside his mother to “I’ll Be There” by the Jackson 5, a song he said represented his mother’s bond with Venus. Venus walked out to “Ovunque Sarai” by Irama, explaining that it reminded her of her grandmother, who passed away during COVID. After exchanging self-written vows, the couple recessed to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” and later danced to “I Only Have Eyes for You” by the Flamingos.

Family involvement and Serena’s role

Serena Williams played a key role in supporting her sister’s preparations. Speaking to PEOPLE, Serena revealed, “We talk every day now because we have so much going on. Well, let me rephrase that. Venus has so much planning that she’s doing that I’m just talking to her all the time.”

She added that Venus asked for help with hairstyles, joking about her sister’s request for 14 different looks. Serena quickly organized the options into a PDF, showcasing her trademark efficiency.

Engagement and relationship history

Venus confirmed her engagement to Preti in July 2025 during a post-match interview, saying, “My fiancé is here and he really encouraged me to keep playing.” The couple had first sparked rumors in February 2025 when Venus was spotted wearing a ring during a training session in Rome. Vogue later confirmed that the engagement took place on January 31 in Tuscany.

Venus and Preti were first linked in July 2024 after being seen together in Nerano, Italy. Preti, born in Denmark and raised in Italy, has worked as a model, actor, and producer. Venus, who previously emphasized her independence in interviews, has now embraced a new chapter with Preti, blending her private life with moments of public celebration.

A new chapter for Venus

The dual weddings in Italy and Florida reflect both the international and personal dimensions of Venus and Preti’s relationship. With family, friends, and her sister Serena deeply involved, Venus has marked this milestone with joy and authenticity, beginning a new journey alongside her husband.
