With the ATP season concluded, Andrey Rublev has been awarded the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award at the 2025 ATP Awards. The honor highlights his efforts beyond the court, particularly through the Andrey Rublev Foundation, which he launched in March 2024 to support children facing serious illnesses.

Rublev’s acceptance speech

Rublev expressed his gratitude in a video message, saying: “I’m really happy to win the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award. We’re really working hard to improve our Foundation. We’re learning, it’s something new for us. It’s only been two years, so to win this award means a lot. We’re going to keep growing the Foundation and do better and more things. Thank you so much.”

Partnership with Bambino Gesu Hospital

Earlier in 2025, Rublev’s foundation partnered with Bambino Gesu Children’s Hospital in Rome. He visited the hospital before the ATP Masters 1000 event, spending time with medical staff and children undergoing treatment, while also bringing gifts to young patients.

Rublev’s personal message

On the foundation’s website, Rublev explained why the mission is important to him: “I’ve been so fortunate to play a professional sport for a living and have my health. There are so many children in need of financial support for critical medical needs and being able to help them is a huge privilege for me. I look forward to working with kids, their families and doctors and helping them face a brighter future because of the resources I am fortunate enough to provide.”

A career milestone

This marks Rublev’s first Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award, joining a list of past recipients that includes Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Andre Agassi and John McEnroe. It is also the third ATP Award of his career, following his recognition as Most Improved Player in 2020 and Fans’ Favourite doubles team with Karen Khachanov in 2023.

Achievements on the court

Rublev’s 2025 season included a title win in Doha and runs to the fourth round at both Wimbledon and the US Open, finishing with a 34-25 record. His accomplishments on the court, combined with his humanitarian work, underline his growing influence in tennis.

Overcoming personal struggles

Beyond trophies and awards, Rublev has spoken openly about his battle with severe depression. His ability to continue competing and contributing to society despite these challenges demonstrates resilience and strength, making his humanitarian recognition even more meaningful.
