Jannik Sinner has resumed training in Dubai to prepare for the 2026 season, following a short vacation in the Maldives. The world No.2 is focusing on building rhythm and intensity ahead of his Australian Open title defense.
Back on Court in Dubai
After closing out a successful 2025 season, which included his second consecutive ATP Finals crown, Sinner quickly returned to work. He chose Dubai as his training base, working at the Mouratoglou Tennis Center under the United Arab Emirates sun. The Italian has made Dubai his preferred location for pre-season preparation, citing the climate and facilities as ideal for building form before the Australian swing.
Focus on Preparation
Sinner’s initial training block is centered on movement, timing, and ball rhythm. Reports indicate that he will gradually increase intensity, fine-tuning his strokes and conditioning as the Australian Open approaches. His early return to training reflects his determination to peak at the right moment, especially with the challenge of defending his Melbourne crown.
Vacation Before the Grind
Before beginning his training block, Sinner enjoyed a brief holiday in the Maldives. The break allowed him to recharge after a demanding year in which he battled Carlos Alcaraz for the No.1 ranking. The reset was short-lived, as Sinner quickly shifted focus back to preparation for the new season.
Eyes on Melbourne
Sinner will aim for a third consecutive Australian Open title, having triumphed in both 2024 and 2025. His rivals, including Alcaraz, are expected to pose strong challenges, but Sinner’s decision to start training early highlights his intent to maintain dominance. “I want to be ready from the first ball in Melbourne,” Sinner said in an interview earlier this year.
Building Momentum
The Dubai training block is not only about physical preparation but also about mental readiness. Sinner’s ability to balance recovery with early intensity could prove decisive as he enters a season where expectations are higher than ever. His proactive approach signals that he is determined to remain at the forefront of men’s tennis.
