Alcaraz to begin preseason training with Cobolli

Alcaraz Cobolli

Carlos Alcaraz is currently enjoying time off in Miami with friends, but his schedule is already set for the coming weeks. The world number one has planned 25 days of preseason training, beginning with physical work on December 13. His first session on court is scheduled for December 17, following exhibition matches in New Jersey on December 7 and Miami on December 8.

Training at the Ferrero Tennis Academy

According to MARCA, Alcaraz will be joined by Flavio Cobolli, a close friend and regular participant in the Ferrero Tennis Academy’s preseason camps. Cobolli missed the December 2024 session due to a shoulder injury but is now ready to return. The Italian, ranked 22nd in the ATP standings, has become one of the standout players on the men’s circuit.

Cobolli’s Davis Cup success

Cobolli’s rise has been highlighted by his role in Italy’s Davis Cup triumph. At just 23 years old, he stepped up as his nation’s number one in the Bologna Final 8, filling the gap left by the absences of Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti. He delivered three consecutive victories against Filip Misolic, Zizou Bergs, and Jaume Munar, helping Italy secure its fourth Davis Cup title.

A promising preseason partnership

The collaboration between Alcaraz and Cobolli at the Ferrero Academy promises to be a valuable preseason experience. Alcaraz will benefit from training alongside a player who has shown resilience and leadership on the international stage, while Cobolli gains exposure to the routines of the world’s top-ranked player.
