Carlos Alcaraz recently shared with young fans the story behind his passion for tennis, describing how his journey began at a very early age and why the sport became such an important part of his life.

Inspired by his father

Alcaraz revealed that his father played a central role in sparking his interest. “My father used to play tennis. He tried to play professional. He was the director of the tennis school in the club close to my house. And I started really early at four years old,” said Alcaraz. His father’s involvement in the sport provided the foundation for his own path.

Growing up with tennis

The Spanish star explained how his love for tennis grew year after year, surrounded by friends and a supportive environment. “Every year I loved playing. I had my group and my friends playing with me. So that made me fall in love with tennis, you know, every year even more,” he added.

Choosing to become professional

Alcaraz recalled the moment when tennis became more than just a childhood passion. “I reached an age that I thought I really wanted to become a professional. It’s been always my sport, my love, let’s say. So that’s why I chose tennis,”

he said.

A lifelong connection

His words highlight the deep connection he feels with the sport, shaped by family influence, friendships, and his own determination. For Alcaraz, tennis is not only a career but also a lifelong love that continues to drive his ambitions on the court.
