Nicolas Almagro had to retire during his 2nd round match at the Roland Garros against Juan Martin Del Potro for a problem to his left knee. The Spaniard will be operated on Monday to his meniscus. Nico didn’t take it nicely on court (he couldn’t stop his tears), and after the operation, he is likely not to play for at least three months. He might, therefore, skip the rest of the season.
As per Del Potro, the Argentine solicited Nico to focus on more important things right now like his wife and his baby during his recovery.
Tennis can wait for now. All the best to Nico.
