Roger Federer has expressed his interest in playing exhibition matches with Rafael Nadal in the future. The Swiss legend, who retired from professional tennis in 2022, revealed that such events could allow both players to enjoy the game without the pressure of the tour schedule.
A chance to inspire and give back
Federer explained that exhibitions would not only provide entertainment but could also serve a greater purpose. He suggested combining the matches with charitable initiatives, particularly through his foundation, which supports educational projects for children.
“It would be great if it worked out. If we played exhibitions after our playing careers, we’d have more time and wouldn’t have to rush to the next match. I could imagine combining it with a good cause, raising money for my foundation and inspiring local young players. Nothing concrete is planned yet, but I can see some cool things that could come out of it.”

Federer and Nadal have shared one of the most iconic rivalries in tennis history, meeting 40 times on the ATP Tour.
