Mladenovic wins epic in Paris

Kiki Mladenovic is on a roll.

The French beauty has already been tipped as a possible contender for the Roland Garros title, and she showed why. In the first round, Kiki won 3-6 6-3 9-7 against Jennifer Brady fighting also a back pain; on Friday, she defeated Shelby Rogers after recovering a 2-5 deficit in the decider. The final score against the American was 7-5 4-6 8-6. The most important stint of the match was when Kiki won 12 of 13 points since she was 2-5 down in the third to even the scoreline (5-all). Then the crowd helped the seed no.13 to win this contest after 2 hours and 46 minutes.

“Yeah, that was epic. I think that’s the word I’m going to use today because I still don’t know how I won that match. I mean, 5-2 down in the third set. Quite a long fight there.

Shelby was playing great tennis, but I had no doubt about it, because, I mean, she played quarterfinals here last year and she has a great game for clay. She really pushed me through the last breath I had. Courage? I always believe until the last point. That’s kind of my motto every single match.”

Next vs. Muguruza

Mladenovic will face the defending champion Garbine Muguruza in the 4^th round. The head to head is 1-0 for the Frenchwoman. This will be an exciting match.
