By formally becoming an Associate Member of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP), the Paraguayan Padel Federation (FEPARPA) has accomplished a historic milestone. An official statement posted via FEPARPA’s media outlets made the announcement. “We celebrate a great step forward,” read the note from the Federation, which added, “This recognition strengthens our work as a National Sports Federation and encourages us to continue growing and to build an increasingly strong Paraguayan padel.”
Galeano emphasizes how crucial acknowledgment is.
FEPARPA President Diego Sebastian Galeano emphasized the importance of the partnership. The Paraguayan Padel Federation joins the Paraguayan Olympic Committee for the first time in its history. Galeano emphasized how this move solidifies padel’s place in the nation’s athletic landscape, saying, “For us, it is an important milestone because it allows us to have a voice within the Olympic structure.”
The FIP’s congratulations to Carraro
The International Padel Federation (FIP) president, Luigi Carraro, congratulated FEPARPA on the accomplishment. “President Diego Sebastian Galeano and the national federation he heads deserve our gratitude for this fantastic news, as does the entire FIP. It is a significant accomplishment and a priceless component of the enormous mosaic that we are all creating for padel’s future. Additionally, I would want to express my gratitude to Camilo Lopez, the president of the COP, for allowing padel to join the Paraguayan Olympic family,” Carraro stated.
An increasing number of international padel
This milestone comes after the XIV FIP Juniors Padel World Championships were successfully hosted by Paraguay in Asuncion in November 2023. The occasion was acclaimed as a huge success, demonstrating the nation’s capacity to host global tournaments and the burgeoning interest in padel in South America.
FEPARPA has a more powerful platform to promote padel both domestically and abroad now that it is officially a part of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee. In addition to confirming the Federation’s work, the honor gives Paraguayan athletes more chances to compete internationally.
