World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz and World No.6 Taylor Fritz have confirmed they will compete at the ninth edition of the Laver Cup, scheduled to take place at The O2 in London from September 25-27, 2026. Their return follows a dramatic event in San Francisco, where Team World defeated Team Europe 15-9 to claim their third title and first under Captain Andre Agassi.

Historic rivalry revisited

Alcaraz and Fritz have already delivered some of the most memorable moments in Laver Cup history. In Berlin, Alcaraz secured the title for Team Europe in match 12, while in San Francisco Fritz earned his first victory over the Spaniard before clinching the decisive win against Alexander Zverev. Their renewed rivalry promises another thrilling chapter in London.

London’s special connection

The 2026 edition marks the Laver Cup’s return to London, a city that hosted one of tennis’s most iconic moments in 2022 when Roger Federer retired at The O2 alongside Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray. Team Europe currently leads the overall rivalry 5-3, though Team World has won three of the last four editions.

Alcaraz’s motivation

“To play at The O2 in London is going to be amazing,” said Alcaraz. “Having the chance to be in a team with players that normally I’m fighting against during the year is really unique and what makes me keep wanting to play Laver Cup every year. Hopefully we’ll have the crowd behind us and I’m really motivated to help Team Europe win the Laver Cup back.” At just 22, Alcaraz has already secured the year-end World No.1 ranking twice, becoming the youngest to do so in ATP history back in 2022.

Praise from Team Europe

“Carlos brings unique talent, passion and confidence that lifts everyone around him. He is committed to his teammates and has an intense desire to win. I am excited to have him back,” said Team Europe Captain Yannick Noah.

Fritz’s commitment to Team World

Fritz, the highest-ranked American, has become a cornerstone of Team World, competing in five editions and contributing to all three of their titles. “Laver Cup is such an exciting week for me,” said Fritz. “I love the team atmosphere, the energy you get playing these matches, when you’re playing for more than yourself is incredible. I’m excited to spend another week with Team World and we’ll be there with the goal to win.”

Agassi’s confidence in Fritz

“Taylor embodies everything the Laver Cup is about — passion, grit, commitment to the team and rising to big moments,”

said Team World Captain Andre Agassi. “As we saw in San Francisco, he thrives on this stage, and brings so much to our team. I’m thrilled he’ll be back next year in London.”

Organizers on London’s return

“We are excited to bring the Laver Cup back to London,” said Tony Godsick, Laver Cup Chairman and TEAM8 CEO. “The O2 holds a special place in the history of our event and the sport, having hosted some of the Laver Cup’s most memorable moments. After a record-breaking edition in San Francisco, we anticipate another amazing competition in front of a packed arena.”

Ticket information

Hospitality packages went on sale on November 18, offering premium seating and access to exclusive spaces. Full Tournament Ticket Packages will be available in February 2026, Multi-Session Packages in April, and Single-Session Tickets in May, all sold via AXS, the official ticketing partner of The O2.

Format and qualification

Named after Australian legend Rod Laver, the competition pits six of Europe’s best against six from the rest of the world on a black court over three days. Matches earn escalating points, with the first team to reach 13 crowned champions. The top three ranked players from each region after Roland-Garros qualify automatically, while captains fill the remaining spots with their picks. By confirming Alcaraz and Fritz now, Captains Noah and Agassi have committed to selecting them if they do not qualify by ranking.
