Ben Shelton described his 2025 season as a major step forward in his development. After a breakout year in 2024, he built on that momentum with consistent performances through much of the season. His confidence and rhythm were especially strong during the summer stretch.
“8 out of 10. I made huge improvements from the year before. The rhythm that I found in the first three quarters of the season was really good. I had a lot of clarity about my tennis during the summer,” Shelton said.
Late-Season Struggles
Despite his progress, Shelton admitted that the final part of the season didn’t meet his expectations. He pointed to specific technical issues, particularly with his forehand, that disrupted his flow in recent tournaments.
“Still looking for that, last four tournaments weren’t good. I’m competing well but some certain things feel a bit off. This week it’s been my forehand,” he explained.
A Positive Outlook
Shelton remains upbeat about his trajectory. While he’s aware of the challenges ahead, he’s proud of the strides he’s made and the foundation he’s building for the future.
“But lots of things to be happy about this year,”
he concluded, signaling a mindset focused on growth, resilience, and long-term goals.Ben Shelton in 2025
