This wasn’t an easy day for Steve Johnson.
The American beats Borna Coric in the Roland Garros 2nd round after winning a rough 4-setter 6-2 7-6 (8) 3-6 7-6(6). The world no.26 manage to hold his nerves during the match, but soon after beating he couldn’t hide his sadness for the recent loss of his father that passed away less than a month ago.
On the other side of the net, Borna Coric couldn’t hold his frustration for losing this match and he went for a sheer “racket-annihilation.”
Steve will now face Dominic Thiem in the third round, but his mind right now should be back home. All the best to him.
Absolutely incredible.
